Don’t worry I’ll hold you together is a sculpture comprising a lump of Kentish chalk split into three pieces tied and held together by an old rubber bike tyre. The piece appears to be an attempt to haphazardly put back together the rock, suggesting that the rock itself is broken and not a rock anymore if it loses any of its now three pieces. It is an absurd, and somewhat sarcastic, representation of the way in which human beings think about the natural world: if something does not seem fit to us, there must be something wrong with it; and thus we try to ‘fix’ what does not need fixing.
