The interactive sand installation consists of two separate piles of sand. In one of them is a small tin can with holes poked through its base, with which the participant of the work can carry sand from one pile to the other. As the sand pours through the holes in the tin can, a line of sand is formed on the floor between the two sand piles. This line gradually grows until the two separate piles of sand become one singular ridge of sand. It is a reflection on the shifting objecthood of our world and ourselves – a kind of ontological mirror into who we are. Nothing is really separate.
